
María Soler studied a degree in Audiovisual Communication at the University of Granada and a Master’s in Film and Television at the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid.
She began her professional career at the advertising and digital marketing company CMA Comunicación, balancing this job with the production of short films and collaboration and coordination of events and festivals.
In 2017, she joined Morena Films, in the production team of films such as “Yuli,” directed by Iciar Bollain; “Out in the open,” directed by Benito Zambrano; and “Advantages of travelling by train,” directed by Aritz Moreno. She later began working as an associate producer with Merry Colomer at Morena Films, and some of her titles include “Piggy” by Carlota Pereda; the series “Zorras” by Atresmedia; and “Flies,” the second feature by Aritz Moreno.
As a producer, she has worked on Agustina Macri’s second feature, “Queen of Coal” (2025), starring Lux Pascal. She is currently filming Alexis Morante’s next movie. She is also developing other projects with directors such as Fernando Franco and Carlota Pereda, among others.
At the same time, she balances her work at Morena Films with the independent production of short films, educational activities, and collaboration in events and festivals. Some of her short films include “Blablatime” (2017) and “Mock Mock” (2018), winners of the Best Short Film Award at the Cinejoven Festival of Almería; “Eucaristía” (2020), which won the Best Short Film Award at Desafío Buñuel; and “LAVA” (2022) by Carmen Jiménez, which was included in the Goya Awards shortlist for Best Fiction Short Film.
As a professor, she has collaborated with the Master’s in Production at EFTI, the Master’s in Creative Film and Documentary Production at the Universidad Europea de Madrid; and numerous training sessions on sustainability in cinema (ECAM, Spain Film Commission, etc.). Additionally, she has served as a juror at festivals such as Fancine in Málaga (Méliès de Plata Award) and Cines del Sur in Granada (Alhambra de Plata Award), as well as events such as VLC Pitch Forum and Filmarket Hub, among others.
